Rhenus in Dubai Project Logistics, has launched the first groupage freight traffic for temperature-controlled goods to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by sea.

The bi-monthly regular service gives customers in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries with a brand new connection to their market in Dubai.

RHENUS PROJECT LOGISTICS LAUNCHES FIRST GROUPAGE REEFER SERVICE TO DUBAI

The project logistics specialist, Rhenus Project Logistics, is organizing the first groupage freight traffic for temperature-controlled goods to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by sea from the beginning of August 2018 onwards. The usual service of two or three containers per month will connect clients in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries to their targeted markets in the vicinity of Dubai.

Rhenus said that the new consolidation service is primarily designed to be used for temperature-sensitive products such as chocolate, baked goods, or cheese. Based on the needs of the client the temperature of the 20 or 40-foot containers could be set to any temperature between -25C to +25C.

It is the Rhenus in Dubai Group that has set up its own country organization with the United Arab Emirates. Rhenus Logistics Gulf, in Dubai Logistics City in the Dubai World Central free trade zone, offers sea and air customs clearance and freight, warehouse and road transport to Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Plans are in place to expand further areas within the Middle East.
